Welcome To Life Guide Devotional

Hey, Welcome to the devotional section of our website. God called everyone to have a personal relationship with Him and that involves reading the bible everyday, figuring God’s plan for your lives. But many times, we don’t know what to read. The bible is so big, it’s hard to find something to read and meditate on. That’s where I come in. My goal is to help other teenagers find scriptures they can read and messages they can meditate on. Life Guide Devotional breaks down the message of the bible and relates it to regular circumstances. So please, study the Word of God with me as we grow together.

How Much Is God Worth?

Phillipians 3: 1 - 10

Paul was rich before he met jesus. He was a pharisee, well brought up, followed the law and was well respected. He gave it ll up to follow Christ. Daniel, in the Old Testament, sacrificed delicious food that was offered to other god and he gained knowledge ten times smarter than his peers. Joseph gave up the luxury of Potifah's house and the pleasure of sex with potifah's wife and he gained power over all of Egypt. My point is that we all gotta sacrifice something to pick up the cross. As for me, i've sacrificed an extra half hour of sleep to do my devotion daily. I have sacrificed populatiry of fighting with my friends because of the God that i serve. I'm not perfect but i'm learning that in order to pick up the cross, we gotta drop something. Our hands are too full of things that Paul refers to as rubbish. When we understand the "surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus," we consider our sinful habits as useless. What is it you know you should give up for God? Is it sacrificing a little popularity to go talk to a lonely kid? is it an hour of madden 09 so you can study the bible? Is it not being able to buy an iPod so you can pay tithe? Think about it; count the cost. Ï have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that i may gain Christ and be found in Him...[having] the righteousness from God that depends on faith."- Apostle Paul (Phillipians 3: 8-9)
